Crazy, Stupid Love

*ing : Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone
Director : Glenn Ficarra, John Requa

Tagline : This is crazy. This is Stupid. This is Love

Ryan Gosling is the flavor of the season. After giving astounding performance in Drive, he does a real good job in crazy stupid love. bt well, the story is not about him, entirely. its about a father who is on verge of divorce and how he manages relationship and gets a new meaning of life. almost everyone is suffering from love problem bt at the end, its love that conquers.

30 minutes or less

*ing : Jesse Eiserberg, Aziz Ansari
Director : Ruben Fleischer

Tagline :

A pizza delivery boy (Eisenberg) gets involved with two crooks who straps bomb on the boy and asks to get 100 million dollars within 10 hours. well it doesn't sound like a premise of a film with a comedy. it shud hv been thriller bt choice of actor is wat makes it a lil diff.
still the humor doesn't really come as expected. expect the few banter scenes between the lead and his best buddy, played by aziz ansari, the rest of the movie is mediocre.

a film abt a serial killer on London who targets only cops. murders them brutally and escapes every time. in comes our hero statham who is has anger management problem and is assigned on this case by the department. after some typical cat n mouse type chase the killer is nabbed.
film uses violence, drugs n some humor to look lil stylish bt there's nothing new abt the film.

Those were days when nagesh kukonoor used to make some lovely movies. now he shadow of what he used to be. Hyderabad blues 2 is sequel to one of the cult film by the same title.
a hyderabdi after living in US for 12 years comes back in india, falls in love with a local girl and decides to get married.
In the sequel, its been 6 years they are married and kind of problems they are facing. its not as funny and edgy as first one bt sill a better effort.

Troy

*ing : Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Boom
Director : Wolfgand Peterson

Tagline : For Love

Brad Pitt has always made some unusual choices. Troy is one of them. He plays a fighter named Achilles who wants to be remembered as one of the greatest warrior of all time.
The film has some spectacular fight scenes and some great acting by the leads. Greatest of wars in the history has been fought because of women. This film justifies the sentence as well.

The Devil's Double

*ing : Dominic Cooper, Raad Rawi
Director : Lee Tamahori

Tagline : Money. Sex. Power. Its not enough.

This film is chilling account of Uday, Son of saddam Hussain. He forcefully makes his double and asks him to visits different places pretending to him Uday himself. But the life of Uday is anything but simple. the man is maniac and psycho. he has all the power in the world and kill anyone because he doesn't give a damn. more so, he picks up minor girls from streets and rapes them. uday is brutal and everything else.
its life of his double, player by cooper himself, is rotting there. he is suffocating in that environment and wants to run off. bt Uday doesnt even allow that coz he knows he is the best double he can have. film becomes more interesting coz its based on real life. you end up squirming in your seat seeing the madness which runs in Hussain family. its definitely worth your time.

The adventures of Tintin

*ing : Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig
Director : Steven Speilberg

Tagline : This year, discover how far adventure will take you.

Steven Spielberg is a very very big name in film industry. Tintin is a very popular character in comics. Unlike many urban kids, I did not grow up reading tintin. So when i heard Spielberg is making film on tintin, i was more than curious.
It is one of the biggest release of the year and it promised to be a great entertainer. It very much was. Having all the things in place, i was still underwhelmed. cant put finger on what was missing but the satisfaction and fun was not what i would have liked it to be. may be it dint exceed my expectations.
a must watch nevertheless.

Rockstar

*ing : Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis Fakri
Director : Imtiaz Ali

Tagline :

a film that cud hv been so better ends up being such a whimper. like literally, after such a great first half ( though a tad too long) wat u get is such WTF kinda second half and like literally ridiculous climax.
i have liked most of imtiaz ali films. socha na tha being my most fav. and when u watch rockstar, u will get a feeling that he recycles same formula over n again. a confused boy/girl in love will travel distance (physically) to find his/her love.
rockstar is same wher a delhi jaat goes on to become a collg boy to world famous rockstar.
Ranbir is the greatest strength of the film and so is music of a r rahman. and such a great cameo by legendary shammi kapoor. watch it if u must.

i like most of the films which have con artists or con involved in it. i like this one better coz also has two brothers playing con artist. there is great potential of exploring different aspects of human relations. this is one is even better coz loves come between brothers.
the film has some wonderful cast in brody, ruffalllo and weisz. all of them terrific actor with amazing chemistry between them. i particularly liked scenes involving ruffalo and brody.
and there is ever luminous weisz with her sparkling smile and never ending screen presence. liked it.

Super 8

*ing : Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka, Kyle Chandler,
Director : J J Abrams

Tagline : It arrives.

Big names has some really big names attached to it. like Steven Spielberg and jj Abrams. you cant but have high expectations from such films. and it hurts when u r disappointed. the film has nothing new to offer. it has been there done that kind of feel all over. the same monster attacking a local town is been seen in many movies. even in terms of VFX it doesnt break some new grounds. it just has few likable kids as main protagonist. that's all diff abt it.

About a Boy

*ing : Hugh Grant , Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette
Director : Chris and Paul Weiltz

Tagline : Growing up has nothing to do with age

i hv always been a fan of hugh grant. he has some adorable charm to his whole persona. the mumbling underdog that he plays in all the films is rather endearing. about a boy is one of his most successful films.
its about a physically grown up man who does nothing for living and lives off on royalty earned by a popular song written by his father.
Meanwhile is shallow and looks for no stable relationship in life. with force of circumstances, he ends being a friend to a young boy who has problem of his owns. its how he tackles some situations and life and how he grows up in like a man is the story which is told simply. not a bad watch.
