Moonrise Kingdom

*ing : Jared Gilman, Kara Hayward, Bruce Willis , Edward Norton, Bill Murray , Tilda Swinton
Director : Wes Anderson

Tagline :

What I like most about Moonrise Kingdom is that this story of love is told from the children's own perspective. Sure, there are adults in this world but it is the kids themselves who are the centre of the story which I'm sure was Wes Anderson's intention. It's the inner world of the kids that the movie explores whereas the inner world of adults is mostly ignored. We do learn about the adults from their actions but we learn much more about the children and the topography of their lives and emotions. One adult isn't even given a name and is simply known as 'social services' - played by the marvelous Tilda Swinton.

This reversal also suits Anderson's style. Whimsy and fantasy are features of his writing and directing and they've never been more appropriate.

It's a wonderful film that will make many adults reminisce about their own 'Moonrise Kingdoms' that they may once have known.
