Jism 2

*ing : Randeep Hooda, Sunny Leone, Arunoday Singh
Director : Pooja Bhatt

Tagline : To love her is to die

What the fuck kind of film is that.. its one of the stupidest film you wud see. Just cashing on the name of porn star sunny Leone. In the film she seems to have a serious case of asthma the way she breathes. Both the male leads are embarrassment and the story is ridiculous. Cudnt even finish the film.

The Skin I live in

*ing : Antanio Banderas, Elena Anaya, Jan Cornet
Director : Pedro Almodovar

Tagline :

It is a weird film,, like all previous films by the director. He is a very famous and successful director but somehow I hv nt really liked none of his films. they hv a very different way of storytelling (not necessarily good) and very graphic depiction of violence or sex. The skin I live in another acclaimed work by the director which I frankly did not like much. Its about a genius doctor who wants to create an artificial skin which is resistant to many diseases related to skin. However the government doesn’t approve of his methods and doesn’t want him to continue his research. He however continues doing research at his home on a patient with whom he has had a history. As I said,, it’s a weird film and when dots are connected eventually, u feel more perplexed about wat really happened.

The Expendables 2

*ing : Sylvester Stallone, Liam Hemsworth , Randy Couture, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger

Director : Simon West

Tagline : Back For War

Saw it coz I was bored and heard it’s a good action film to pass time. Well its just time pass type of movie . dint like it much..not even the action bits. The film had a very jaded feel to the entire story and action. Also, all the lead are too old and ther was just no spark or much of a chemistry which is required for films like this.

My week with Marilyn

*ing : Michelle Williams, Eddy Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh
Director : Simon Curtis

Tagline :

Its part documentary about a assistant director working in a film starring Marilyn Monroe. The biggest star of her time and sort of an enigma in late 1950s. She had a crazy fan following among men but her private life was quite disturbed. She married 3 times and had her own insecurities. The film is not that good but the best part is the female lead playing the Marylyn. She’s just superb and plays the role with great sensitivity and realism. Film is worth watching only for the lead actress and slight insight in life of magical personality that is Marylyn Monroe

Friends (Season 1 )

*ing : Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer

Director : David Crane, Marta Kauffman

Tagline : All you need is friends !

Just recently I have started watching Hollywood serials.. First series I ever completed was prison break and I loved it. About friends, I had heard a lot in past that how good it is and its soo funny etc etc . Having fully knowing all these,, still I had never taken an effort to watch frends ever and I had never seen any single episode in past. It was my sister who pushed me to watch it and boy, did I love it.. now I feel what had I been missing in my life. Friends is undoubtedly the greatest show ever created on earth. Its soooo funny and soo charming. Friends has made me understand myself more.. i have hardly enjoyed myself watching any comedy show. Its about 5 frens living in an apartment in Manhattan and their issues of life ranging from love, sex, career, money, parents and everything in between. the leads are perfectly cast and it seems no one cud hv done it better.. well I dnt know wat else to say except friends is best. Friends has 10 seasons and it will b all watched with great pleasure.

Ek Tha Tiger

*ing : Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif
Director : Kabir Khan

Tagline :

I am not at all fan of salman khan. I hate his movies and I dnt like his personality at all. I think he is uneducated, not at all cultured, not at charming and with no sense of humor kind of person. But what I know is that he has huge fan following in india and has had really colorful life. But his fan based is mostly uneducated rikshwala type of people. He’s had very last 10-12 years in the industry giving flops after flops and doing some really bad movies.. However for last 2-3 years his fortune is changed completely and his movies are doing astronomical business. Dabbang, ready and bodyguard were huge hits.. bt all of them were bad films.
I had seen bodyguard last year and hated it. I never wanted to see a film “bhai” (this is wat he is called fondly by his fans ) again. Ek tha tiger had some nice things which had me excited like director kabir khan (who’s previous work New York I had liked ) and Katrina kaif. But then salman was something which deterred me from watching the film. Bt as its happening more often these days.., I had nothing better to do and ended up watching the film and regretting it again.
The film was total crap with nothing good about it. Nothing. Wat a stupid story, no logic and such never ending stretching of the plot. People go to watch SALMAN KHAN the personality or the larger than life persona of his.. but the film dint even had that. He was very very subdued and tamed which looked even worse in the screen. Wat else, he dint even have a proper topless scene he is soo famous for.
The film released on Eid holidays and of course is a big hit. But I doubt films like these will ever be remembered..

The Artist

*ing : Jean Dujardin, Bérénice Bejo, John Goodman
Director : Michel Hazanavicius

Tagline :

The artist is rare film in today’s times. The artist is actually a black and white silent film based in 1927. I said its rare film coz movies are very very technology driven and the charm or soul in the movie is missing mostly. And that’s were the artist scores huge points. The artist as a film has soul in it.. no wonder film won the Oscar this year for the best film. The film is about a silent movie star who is arrogant enough not to accept that times are changing and people are accepting talking movies. But more than the story part,, its how its been treated matters.. Both lead actors are so wonderful in their performance that you can feel their pain and love. Highly recommended.

Tagline : Karenge vaar, Akhiri Baar

As said above,, I may watch the film again to savor the moments,, I did watch the film to savor few of the really funny moments.. one of the another important reason was to see “definite” on the screen.. he acted really well.. liked It even more this time.

The Hunger Games

*ing : Jenniffer Lawrence, Josh Hutherson, Liam Hemsworth
Director : Gary Ross

Tagline : The Games will change everyone

I have seen too many films based on post apocalyptic world. I have liked few but not many. The hunger games is one such film based on post apocalyptic world which I liked. The film is about reality show where 12 boys and 12 girls are left on a island and they hv to kill each other.. whoever wins becomes the game is a winner and these entire event is to be shown on live tv.
Ofcourse there is reference of cult Japanese movie “battle royale” to the idea but hunger games has been dealt in much nicer way.. its not as gory or in ur face violent as battle royale was.
Film is more likeable coz of the lead actress jeniffer Lawrence who brings depth and maturity to the performance.

The Dictator

*ing : Sacha Baron COhen, Alec Berg, Ben Kingsley
Director : Larry Charles

Tagline :

The borat team returns,, sacha boran with the same director who made cult and iconic “borat” comes up with another film “the dictator”. Their last film “Bruno” however was panned heavily by critiques and was a flop on box office too.. I saw the film for few minutes and cudnt handle it so dint see it any further..
The promos of dictator were hilarious and it seemed they hv achieved the humor of borat. Borat was very funny film in a sarcastic way. The humor was on the edge and ppl cud either get it or get offended. Dictator has some genuine funny moments but largely, film is offensive, rude, crude and boring. They gags seemed forced and so were the situations. Borat worked for its novelty factor but it seemed much repeated in dictator. I did not like the film except few scenes.

Gangs of Wasseypur II

*ing : Nawazzudin, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, Tigmanshu Dhulia
Director : Anurag Kashyap

Tagline : Karenge Vaar, Akhiri baar

I liked GOW II more than GOW I . GOW II is much more entertaining and has more humor. Bt the problem of part one remains here too.. the film is just too long and feels too indulgent. There are too many new characters like perpendicular, tangent, definite ( my most fav, also the writer of the film) , ikhlakh, guddu etc.. However I liked music looks weaker in comparison to first part. There are still some kick ass songs like chi-cha leather, kaala re, moora . the climax of the film is truly mind blasting and whilstle stuff. The way ramadheer singh is killed,, you can feel the anger in the eyes of faizal played by nawazzudin who literally burns the screen with his presence.. what a performance.. I am sure he ll turn star after this film. Also highlight of the film is romance between faizal and his wife.. such affection and such good chemistry.
Plan to watch it again to savor those small moments of fun.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The world

*ing : Micheal Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Director : Edgar Wright

Tagline : An epic of epicness

Well I really really really avoid watching films one I have seen them.. I may watch few scenes here n there but full film, I almost never do that. When I saw first time scot pilgrim, I dnt think I liked it that much.. may b it was not in the mood or was just not sport enough to enjoy the tone of the film. Bt I hv heard abt this film from quite a few ppl and that they find it cult. I got curious to check out the film again.. well I dint find it cult bt I did enjoy it a lot. May b more than last time. Michael cera plays himself again bt there are enough quirks to keep the fun alive. The girl Ramona flowers is hot and has interesting history of seven deadly ex boyfriends whom micheal has to fight in order to win her love.. the film is like a video game and as I said,, u hv to b part of the mood.

Another Earth

*ing : Brit Marling, William Mapother
Director : Mike Cahil

Tagline :

Another earth is a dark experimental indie cinema at best. The idea of the film is “what if you meet another you” .. and this theme is explored thru tragedy, loneliness and some really nicely etched out scenes. This film typical low budge one with no star cast to sell the film bt still has enough content to sit back and notice it. The film is ofcourse slow and has mood of its own, and u d require patience to get that feeling. Still, its worth a dekko.

Restless

*ing : Mila Wasikowaska, Henry Hopper, Ryo Kase
Director :Gus Van Sant

Tagline : who do u live for ?

The name had tricked me into watching the film. I have been feeling restless for some matters and I wanted to see what and how movie cud relate to my restlessness. However the titles can b deceptive and there is not much restlessness in the movie at all. The movie is about a young boy who is kinda loner, has a Japanese ghost as a friend, has a habit of gate crashing funerals and falls in love with a girl who is about to die soon. It is part coming of age film with sensitive handling of certain issues like loneliness and fear and grief of loosing someone special. The cinematography is lovely and so are few scenes but overall film doesn’t satisfy .
